Since 2012, we have been an award-winning, family-run business situated in Poole and Bournemouth.

I am the Director of The Real Green Gardener and a Qualified Garden Designer and Horticulturist.

I am a member of the Institute of Garden Design and hold an Advanced Diploma in Garden Design as well as an RHS certificate in Horticulture.

I've worked in some of the best gardens in Chelsea, Kensington, Notting Hill, and Hampstead for the past 15 years, including several designed by Chelsea Flower Show Gold Medal Winners.

Growing up in South Africa, surrounded by a beautiful range of tropical flora and spending time in my British Granny Roz's Rose garden ingrained in me an early love of plants.

For three years, I worked as the Head Gardener at a William Robinson-designed memorial garden in North London.

Working in his garden sparked a lifelong love of plants and natural spaces in me.

The desire to interact with our natural environment, planning and building beautiful outdoor spaces for everyone to enjoy, led to the creation of the Real Green Gardener.

Garden Design:

Are you seeking a professional garden design service to help you transform your outside space into something genuinely unique?

We have three distinct packages to fit your needs, whether you just want some garden inspiration or a full design service.

Package 1: Ideas

The Ideas package includes a one-hour consultation with an experienced garden designer who will come to your home and discuss the potential of your garden.

We can then make plant recommendations based on your preferences and the major features of your garden.

Package 2: Developed

This adds to the Ideas package by providing conceptual garden designs as well as a rough drawing of the new concept.

We'll also give you an estimate for the cost of constructing your garden at this time.

Our top recommendation is that you supply us with a rough budget so that we can factor it into the creation of a new garden plan.

Package 3: The Full Works

With The Real Green Gardener, changing your yard into your own personal refuge is straightforward and takes only four steps:

Step 1 – Garden design consultation

The garden design process begins with a free consultation during which we will explore the possibilities of your garden as well as the various options available based on your needs and budget.

Step 2 – Detailed drawings and site survey

Following the conversation, we'll draught a client brief and get to work on your new garden's design.

The design is charged at a set price. Steve, the head gardener, will submit a design idea, and any revisions can be agreed upon before the final drawings and scaled outline plan are prepared. A day will be required to conduct a site survey and analysis.

We can start working on the final drawing once the design idea has been approved.

This will be presented, along with an invoice for the balance of the design service as well as the building costs.

Any additional drawings that are necessary (such as elevations or construction drawings) will incur a fee.

Step 3 – Construction (the exciting bit)

We don't mind if you build the garden yourself or hire contractors, but why spend time, effort, and, most likely, money hiring additional help?

The most convenient option for you is to sit back and relax while our skilled crew constructs your garden.

If you decide to proceed with the building, we'll prepare a custom quote for all of the work that needs to be done.

Step 4 – Garden aftercare 

We'll make sure you know exactly how to care for your new plants once your garden has been transformed, so you can be confident they'll thrive.

Alternatively, we may provide continuous maintenance to ensure that your garden thrives.
