Although all of our fencing and gates are pressure treated, wood is a natural substance.

Water is stored in the cell structure of timber, which is progressively released or absorbed depending on temperature and humidity.

As a result, the volume of the wood varies, and the pieces closest to the surface will dry faster than those closer to the center.

Splitting in the timber is a natural part of the drying process in hot weather, and these splits can typically lessen and 'heal' in wetter conditions – they are not defects and have no bearing on the strength of your timber product.

Where limbs have been chopped off the tree before it is peeled and sawn, knots in the wood can be found. Knots are to be expected on completed products, however, we choose our wood carefully to minimize their presence and size in highly apparent areas.
